I dropped my Dell now Windows will not load

I dropped my dell laptop, now it turns on & shows the xp windows logo. I notice the the booting bar is in activation but it does not stop, ever.

Most likely you damaged the hard drive.
Listen closely for noises coming from the hard drive when the laptop tries loading Windows. Can you hear repetitive clicking noise or grinding noise? If yes, the hard drive was damaged.

Turn off the laptop as soon as possible. Hopefully you still can recover personal files from the failing hard drive.

If the hard drive was damaged, you’ll have to replace it with a new one and reinstall Windows OS.

  1. Hi, i have a question i was hoping you could answer. While playing a game, i went to plug in my speakers into the headset jack on the side of my laptop. (Asus G50V) While attempting to do this i touched the live speaker plug to a USB hole and i heard feed back come over the speakers and the computer turned promptly off. The only way i could get the laptop to turn back on was to remove the battery and replace it after waiting approx. 30 seconds. Now when turn it on it makes low pitched beep every three seconds, takes a long time for the intial Republic of Gamers Logo to go away and goes to an all black screen with this written on it.

Reboot and select proper boot device
or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

Now im not 100 percent possitive that the speaker plug touched the USB port, but its to much coincidence in my mind that it came close and this happened. I would be very grateful for an help you can give me. Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi. I went to switch on my HP Pavillion Laptop one day when it unexpectatly froze during startup.

I clicked the power button of the laptop and everything seemed fine with the lights turning on and the fan going; even the screen goes through the hp logo sign.

After that, the screen just turns into a greyish colour with a little white line blinking at the top left corner of the screen.

However, all the lights on the keyboard is on as usual as well as the fan going. The only problem is the screen. This condition will stay like how it is until the battery dies or until I turn off the computer.

I have no whatsoever clue to the cause of the problem. I have had this computer since around ’07/’08 and this is the first time this has ever happened.
    Please Help!!!!

  3. ((forgive me if I’m doing this wrong, I’ve been looking for 20 minutes on how to post this))

I have DELL Latitude E5500 that will work great, but just shut down like it loses power. It will turn post and boot into windows but turns off at random times (most i was able to keep it started was about 7 minutes) While it’s on, it will charge the battery and run applications. I’ve also tested this without a battery, and it still crashes. The CPU fan spins when it needs to, but not all the time. It’s clean. I put a fan under the CPU and GPU while it was on to make sure it was not overheating and it still died.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  4. Hi, two days ago I dropped my laptop from my bed onto the carpet floor. It was about two feet. Now every time I try to turn it on it either shows the windows logo loading( but it never takes me to my log in page) or a black screen pops up with two options: to start windows normally or to Launch start up repair. Oddly enough I dot hear any clicking coming from the hard drive. I’ve already launched start up repair a couple of times hoping it would work sadly it didn’t. My parents don’t know about this and I’m getting really upset. I love my laptop haha.

  6. I dropped my hp laptop and everytime I try to turn it on it turns on and shows the logo but it will not fully load. It ask if i want to troubleshoot and when I did it told me that it did not recongnize the hard drive. It keeps making a strange clicking noise from the back and won’t stop. I’m guessing that the hard drive is broken where can I find someone to replace the hard drive?
