Dear Laptopfreak,
I have a Laptop Toshiba Satelite M30-704. Both of the hinges are broken and the screen has to be supported by something .
Could you please tell the parts number for the hinges.

Hi there,
I have a satellite a85 s107 and I need to replace the LCD hinges on my computer. The screen currently is propped up against a pile of books and any help I can get about the following will be highly appreciated.
1. I am having trouble in finding the exact part numbers for these hinges.
2. Can I use the hinges from any of the other 15″ Toshiba models? M35X M30X for example is a 15″ satellite.

My NC6000 laptop right hinge just broke also. Any luck fixing that? (this is the the person above with the compaq HP NC6000 laptop) I see hinges on ebay but don’t know where or who can fix it; if it’s easy I can fix it myself! I have been googling it and this page came up.

My hinge just broke and I found that Toshiba had a hinge remediation program that unfortunately ended in March ‘08.

ok ready for this one…..I have a gateway M405 (not toshiba) and im trying to replace both the left and right hinges and cannot find part numbers anywhere can someone please help me find that out?

It’s possible to replace broken hinges yourself, but it’s not easy. You’ll have to take the whole thing apart and new hinges are not cheap. Apparently, it’s time to start saving money for a new laptop.

Well isn’t this forum on broken hinges for Toshiba the pits. I have a Toshiba Satellite A15 and I had the left one break last fall and yesterday the right one broke. I am not a repair person but I am looking at making a cradle to hold it. Its almost 5 years old so I guess its time for another one but I have been holding off because I don’t want Vista.

Hi, all.

I have an HP Compaq NC6000, and the right hinge has broken. The break is across where the screw (for the hinge cover) goes in, and it happened because the hinge ceased up and no longer turns at all. It’s now at a 90 degree angle to what it should be, and needs replacing.

I’ve ordered the parts, and think I can do it on my own…but there are some things I’m a little nervous about approaching.

1. How do I get the lower part of the hinge that goes UNDER the screw out?

2. Does anyone know a guide to help me disassemble the front LCD bezel for this laptop? I’ve googled for hours, and can’t seem to pull up anything useful.

Any help at all would be very much appreciated.
