Alan A,

Is the graphics card upgradeable for a Gateway MD7818U? If no one knows how can I find out without having to either call the company or break open the laptop?

Nope, you cannot upgrade the video card. In this model the video card is a part of the motherboard and is not upgradable.

All I know is you cant modify anything in HP laptops, the only thing you could add is a new HardDrive and more RAM.

Just makes me think of buying a new laptop now.

Dunya,
I don't think so. I believe the video card on this model is integrated into the motherboard.
