Hello there. Today, I dropped something heavy on my laptop. Then, it restarted. It says "disk reading error", and thats it. Its a pavillion dm3. Is it that my hard disk is totally crashed? Are the any chances that it can be fixed? It contains lots of documents in it and can I retrieve them?

Hello, I dropped my Toshiba Satellite about two weeks ago while walking home from college. At the time, only the screen stopped working, it went black, but the backlight was still functional, and if I connected it to an external device, the computer would work fine.

Recently it's begun to have more problems, like, it'll freeze randomly and the only thing I can do to try and get it working is to hard reset it. Now, recently when I go to turn it on, it won't. You can see the battery indicator and the ON light come on when you press the power. You can also hear things turning and making normal noises inside of it when it's on, but nothing happens on the screen, the back light does not even come on anymore, and nothing happens on my external device.

I would like to know what part of my laptop I can look at on the inside, as I cannot afford to have it repaired. :( Thanks.
