Power problem with Acer Aspire 9110 laptop
I bought Acer Aspire 9110 laptop just over a year ago and cost enough! I’m experiencing a power problem – constantly having wriggle the cable in the socket to get mains power. Tried another tested (and working) adapter with same issue.
It seems nobody has found a solution so does it look like a sending off to be fixed sort of problem?
If you have to wiggle the power cable in the socket in order to get power to the laptop and new adapter didn’t fix the problem, then there is something wrong with the DC power jack. The jack either loose or broken. I’m not familiar with your model and not sure if the jack is permanently attached to the motherboard or the jack is located on a separate harness, but in any case it’s necessary to open up the laptop and take a look at the jack.
If the jack is soldered on the motherboard you’ll have to either resolder the existing jack or replace it with a new one.
If the jack is located on a separate harness, you’ll have to replace the harness.

I have a acer 5610. It was accidently plugged into the wrong power adapter and now with the correct power adapter it will not power on. If the battery is in and laptop is connected to ac adapter the battery and power light will flicker very dimly. There are no lights when the battery is removed and only ac adapter is connected. Any help would be much appreciated.

I bought an Aspire one 2 weeks ago. The power adapter is faulty and does not work unless i wriggle the power cord at the actual power adapter end. I think the lesson here is don’t buy Acer.

I have a laptop Acer Aspire 4720, one I used it for a whole day without shutting it down. Then, late at night I leaved it in a sleep mode with the charger disconnected. The next morning when I turn it ON from the sleep mode it never turn on anymore. I taught the battery is drained so try to connect the charger. With charger connected I noticed that the Power LED indicator still not lit, so I check the charger’s output and it is normal (19V Dc). I open my laptop to check the inside. I found a small fuse is a small card where the 2 USB ports the charger connector are mounted. the fuse is connected right after the charger connector, when check its continuity it is ok. so I assemble the Laptop again. At this time I try to connect the charger and turn the Power button ON I was surprised that the LCD displays RESUMING WINDOWS but later on everything was lost (BLACK OUT, NO POWER, LED indicator are OFF) even if I pressed the Power button again. But the chargers out put is sitll normal. PLease help me identify the possible fault?
