I have a toshiba satellite A350 running windows vista, i tried to upgrade to Win 7 ultimate about 75% of the installation speaker is coming out with high pitch noise and the installation failed system restored back to vista and i tried to upgrade it again same thing happened but the upgrade went through. But the constant high pitch stays in the win 7. i tried to update all the drivers, couldn't fix the problem. so i ran the system recovery program to restore the laptop to factory condition with vista. now the right speaker does not have sound but the left speaker only produce about 1/4 of the volume of the original. tried to update drivers but still can't fix it. also tried to plug in headphones the volume and both ear plug works fine. In the advance setting of audio the selection of stereo is gray out can't select anything. all the tests says sound is working. I wonder if my right speaker is broken due to the switch of OS? is there any way to fix this problem

Hi There,

I have an HP notebook and all of a sudden the sound has stopped working. It does not work from the speakers or when headphones are connected. I have checked the volume mixer and Sound under control panel (running on vista) and these both indicate sound is working fine. I tried to update the driver but it said I was using the most up-to-date one (however another scan by Drivercure suggested otherwise)

Please help! Ive googled until my fingers have bled!

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

After I connected my Toshiba laptop with the stereo system, I could not hear any sound coming out of the laptop speakers (when disconnected from the stereo system, of course). I suppose I did something wrong while connecting...
I cannot hear sound with headset as well.
I checked, and the sound card can be detected, and the drivers are up to date.
I kindly ask, what might be the problem? Damaged sound card maybe?

Thanks a lot

I was recently on YouTube finding a music video for my boyfriend. I left a page and went to a different one because the sound of the first video was too low. After i clicked on the new page absolutely NO sound was coming out of my speakers. I've done sound tests and the speakers will perform just fine but anywhere else on my computer and they just stop working. I've already checked my sound controls.

I have an Acer-Aspire 3680.

Any help you could give me would be awesome.

Hello All,
I have a Toshiba M70 that was having sound problems after I formatted, but I figured out a solution that no one has mentioned yet and it worked for me after 2 weeks of racking my brain. I was noticing that everytime I loaded my sound drivers (realtek Ac'97), the sound would work fine til I restarted the computer. After a restart, I would recieve a blue screen that would flash by so quickly that I could only make out the word "error" and somthing about "tvs.sys" then it would reboot over and over in a never ending cycle. I finally figured out that the "Tvs" file had somthing to do with "Toshiba Virtual Sound" and is loaded automatically when you format using the toshiba windows recovery disk provided when you purchase the laptop.
What you need to do is restart and press F8 to bring up options for Safe mode booting and once in safe mode, uninstall whatever drivers you just loaded for sound then restart again. windows will load fine, minus the sound which will pop up in a "new hardware found" window. Cancel allowing it to find the drivers for you. Then go into control panel and into add/ remove programs and uninstall Toshiba Virtual Sound (tvs). Restart and then load your sound drivers, restart. your sound should work! it is optional if you then want to reload the "toshiba virtual sound" again or not.
Hope this helps. It worked for me. Out of all the forums out there I could not find one that had my specific sound problem...Hope this is helpful to someone out there.

Hi I just recently updated my Laptop (Toshibia Satalite Series A215- S4807) to the new service pack from vista. I know you have to reinstall the driver for the sound, but when I tried listening to my music with my headphones, not a single sound comes out of it. With the headphones plugged in, the only sound that I get are the ones from the speakers. Can someone please help me?

Thank You.
