My typing blinker goes wherever it wants while I am typing
At points within typing my typing blinker goes wherever it wants. If I don’t pay attention I will end up writing all my sentences in another. I am not sure how to fix this. Sometimes it just goes away and I’m doing nothing. If you know what I could do please let me know.
I have an idea. It’s possible that you have touchpad tapping option enabled. Apparently, when you typing you accidentally touching/tapping on the touchpad and because of that the blinker jump to another location.
Try typing without touching the touchpad. Does it fix your problem? You can disable touchpad tapping in the touchpad properties.

I have this same problem and it doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the tapping option. I have an Averatec 5400 and the touchpad controls are not visible in Control Panel. I’ve got a mouse that works great and would love to just totally disable the touchpad. Ideas?

I have an HP Pavilion ze4427. The Synaptics touch pad tapping and left button are erratic. I mention this because they both have the same function. The touch pad ‘tap’ is dead, while the button becomes difficult. The mouse action and scroll pad always work great. It happens on and off really no way to know when. it could be every 30 seconds or not for a day. it comes and goes, working and then not. I’ve tried updates but the problem continues.. is my ole trusty laptop gettin tired? Its taken a beating and has made it 5 years.

HI, I had the same problem.. Now it is solved. My laptop is Toshiba satelite pro, windows vista. This is the way I solved it.Click the right button of the touch pad or mouse on the touch pad icon of the tasc bar and select the ‘Pointing device property”.DISABLE “SNAP TO’ from ‘Automatically move pointer to default button in a diolog box’.

Hey I have an idea. It’s called a cursor not a typing blinker. Call it by it’s name and it shall not roam where it pleases…. like a Nomad. I mean for real what idiot calls a cursor a typing blinker?? I can’t belive what I just saw. Oh, and I baked a strawberry cake last night. OMG!! It was the best cake I ever shared with my cat. We read stories and wrote poems it was the best sleep over EVER!!! Party like its 1980 homeskillet.

Qasim! YOU are a genius! I’ve been searching all weekend for the reason why my touch pad stopped working on a double-click! I had cleaned up the taskbar-when I put the icon back on the taskbar and right clicked on it-IT WORKED!!! Thank you!Thank you! Thank you!!!

I have a similar issue. When using my touchpad on my Dell D620 the mouse pointer tends to go where ever it wants to when I touch the pad and try to move the pointer to a location I want. I do not even see touch pad properties on my cpmputer anywhere so I can make an adjustment. Any ideas what i can do to fix this issue? Thanks, Steve.

Hi, I have a similar problem to Guy’s. For a few days now, the trackpad on my PowerBook G4 has been acting up sporadically. It will freeze up and only respond to my movements sometimes, and then jerkily. After a few minutes of anxious finger dragging, it will act completely normal again, only for the problem to come back later in the day. Sometimes during these periods, (one of them is now) the mouse will move slightly in the opposite direction of the way I’m moving my finger. I’ve inspected my trackpad, and it’s actually very clean-looking: nice and shiny. The bouts of annoying unresponsiveness are happening more and more frequently. Do you have any idea of how I can fix this?
