i have dell inspiron 1420…i was using the laptop & all of sudden screen went whole white with some coloured spots.. i went to my technician…he recommended to change the lcd..so i did…but after change i m facing problem in brightness adjustment by fn key…it is just getting changed in 2 modes & both up n down working ..i press up it brights again press up it dulls….same with down key..please guide me shall i replace my invertor or some other problem ..please help me

Yes, I think replacing the screen should fix the problem.

Hi, i have similar problem.
i have stepped on my computer recently by accident
and now it has many long and short cracks all over the screen
and i understand this can be fixed by just replacing the screen?

But with cracks, i also have green and black lines around my screen…..
will these black and green lines go away as well if i replace the screen????
i would really not like to replace my entire laptop..
screen itself coasts so much…
so please help me!!!

Great information. I was removing the LCD to my Inspiron 1420 and I broke the cable that goes to the web cam. does any one know what the part number or if i can get a replacement.

hi,my laptop dropped on few days ago.after the incident,my laptop screen goes black without any brightness but system still runing well.The screen still can function just without any brightness.any suggestion?Izit 100% sure that is the inverter problem?

what mean of lcd and lcd srceen??? my lcd sceen has some strange line which has some colour.so if i want to repair, whole lcd change or just lcd screen will be change???

i dropped my acer aspire one laptop off my bed and the screen is completely broken, it looks like a bunch of cracks and ink. so i connected it to a different screen and it only works on safe mode. is there anyway i can make it work on normal mode?

hi, i have a dell inspiron 6000, the screen went black so I bought a replacement inverter, tested it still not working so I also bought a dell inspiron 6400 scre, however after installing it it only lights up with a bright light blue colour and a black verticle line about 3/4 inch thick through the center. Did I make a mistake by getting the inspiron 6400 screen rather than the 6000, as their specs are exactly the same.
