Can I add internal Bluetooth card to a Dell Studio 1535 laptop?
Just purchased a Dell Studio 1535 (from Staples) and wanted to add Bluetooth receiver to it. Since this was an in-store purchase, I was not able to select this. So, long of the short of it, can I add the Bluetooth module to the new computer? I am also planning on adding the backlit keyboard, but that looks pretty straight forward.
It depends on the configuration of your laptop. I found this information in the service manual for Dell Studio 1535/1536 in the “Wireless Mini-Card” category.
Quote from the manual: Your computer supports three Mini-Card slots:
* Two Full Mini-Card slots – for WWAN, WPAN, UWB, Bluetooth
* One Half Mini-Card slot – for WLAN
Depending on the configuration of your system, one or more of the Mini-Cards might not be present. Apparently, in order to find out if your laptop has this slot you’ll have to remove the base cover.
If you find the slot, you’ll have to use Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Minicard. I think that’s the right card because it’s mentioned in the list of applications available for downloads for Dell Studio 1535 laptop.

If I purchase the new Wireless 410 Bluetooth card, does that replace either of the mini cards I currently have?
- Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card
- Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet
I’m willing to purchase and install the new card, but want to make sure that I don’t lose the ability to connect (wired or wireless) if I have to use this new card in one of the two available slots. Thanks.

The “Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard” of my Sony VAIO VGN-CS16G is not working. I can’t send file via bluetooth using the wizard. But the bluetooth is working for it can receive files via bluetooth e.g. from cellphone. What is probably causing it to fail? Thanks!

I bought my laptop knowing that it did not have an internal bluetooth card but other P505 models did. I bought the internal bluetooth card and harness that goes on the other P505s and I’m wondering if I can install it on my laptop. I already found the port on the motherboard where it goes, but I can’t seem to get the plastic hand rest that surrounds the keyboard off to get the BT card installed. any help would be greatly appreciated.
