I have a screen problem. Today while I was watching pictures, I clicked on ATI logo on taskbar. And when I clicked the screen turned black and white. I restarted computer but it didn’t help. I restored defaults on ati properties but it didn’t help. I have Samsung R20 laptop with ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics card. How can I get the colors back?

Same kind of problem with my Toshiba Satellite A100-110:
-Replaced screen & video cable – it didn’t help. All connections & pins on motherboard & screen seem to be fine. Re-seated them all twice. Besides screen cable output on the motherboard there are other ports, like USB & internet placed on same board and they’re working.
-Screen lights up, but with no image.
-External monitor works fine.
-Windows & BIOS detect both screen – external & laptop one. Can change all the settings for laptop screen, but it doesnt help.
-Videocard is Ge-Force 7600GO. It was replaced under warranty after a month since purchasing the laptop.

What could possibly the problem??? I have suspicions only on videocard now.

when I start my laptop windows starts but nothing comes up on the screen? Is there an easy way to fix this

I have a 17″ laptop hp pavilion, within the last 4-5 months, my screen displays gray with some lines when I start it up or revive it from hibernate mode, sometimes it will pop in on it’s own other times I have to play with the angle of the monitor before I can get an image. What could the problem be? I’m afraid it will blank out completely.

I cant get any external monitors or tv’s to work using my yellow line out port on the back of my Toshiba Satellite. I read all troubleshooting info and help messages i could find and they all said i had it set up correctly… i can get fuzz to go through when i click on certain things so i know its feeding… If you can be any kind of help it would be greatly appreciated…

I have an HP DV5000 and I am having a screen issue. It is about a year or so out of warranty and recently the screen has been going blank. I found that when I had the laptop plugged in the screen worked fine. When the laptop ran on battery it would go blank. I figured that it must be the battery and waited to fix it. The other night the screen went blank while it was plugged in. I also noticed that the plastic frame around the screen was beginning to melt/deform in the lower right hand side. I immediately turned the computer off. After doing some research it looks like I may have a bad inverter. Do you feel the same? The screen still works because you can see it slightly, it is just really dark. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
