One key on my laptop keyboard does not work
I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop and my “Y” key doesn’t work. Sometimes when I push the “T” key it will type a “Y” with it and act as if the “Y” key is stuck down and results in a “YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY…” any idea as to why this is happening and if so how do I fix it?
Most likely this is keyboard related problem and the keyboard has to be replaced. You can replace the keyboard on a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop if follow these disassembly instructions.
You can find a new replacement keyboard if you Google the part number from the bottom side of the original (defective) keyboard.
The keyboard part number will look something like that 431414-001 or 431416-001.

Hello, I have a friend who has a daughter that lives in Germany that sent a laptop (from Germany) to her mother (Canada) as a gift. Long story short she cannot find the @ button on the keyboard. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Laptop freak,
I’m not sure that this is a question but my “U” key on my laptop works normally at times, but at other times, i have to literally poke it hard and it will come up. I got the laptop at around September ’09 and the key worked normally.
