It’s a 3.28MB pdf file and might take some time to download.

The display disassembly instructions start on the page 5-33.

The display hinge kit is mentioned on the page 5-42. This kit includes both screen hinges and has part number 431395-001.
You can search for new hinges here and find them for about $15.

Alternatively, you can google the part number and find the seller.

Toshiba Satellite A25-S207 laptop clutch in not holding up the screen. Screen falls down and will not stay up.
What parts do I need? Is it an easy fix?

That is a common problem with Toshiba Satellite A20/A25 laptops. Most likely the screen will not stay up because one or both display hinges are broken. In order to fix the problem, you’ll have to replace display hinges.

Replacing hinges is not an easy fix because you’ll have to disassemble the whole laptop. You’ll have to take apart both, the laptop base and display panel assembly as it shown in this repair guide.

If you have no laptop repair experience, I wouldn’t attempt this repair. It’s not an easy repair even for experienced technicians.

I am trying to find the left hinge ( or both ) for a Toshiba Satellite L35 series ( L35-S2194 ) I have tried to order them online and only got sent the right side. I am getting quite annoyed as you can imagine. Do you know where I can buy both hinges or the left. Website or company info is fine. I live in the US but will order outside of US if I have to. I have contacted every company I could find using the part number as my search and am not getting anywhere. I also called Toshiba a million times… Thanks a million if I can be helped!!

Toshiba Satellite L35 laptop comes with a 14.1″ or 15.4″ LCD screen and they use different hinges. You’ll have to find out which LCD screen is installed on your laptop.

You can search for new hinges on the Internet using Toshiba part number.

For laptops with 14.1″ LCD screen use the following part numbers: A000009390, A000009400, A000010000.
For laptops with 15.4″ LCD screen use the following part numbers: A000009360, A000009370, A000009380.

You can use either part number in each group, they are compatible.

Each set should include one right display hinge and one left display hinge.

Here’s what you should do:
1. Find out witch LCD screen is installed on your laptop.
2. Search for the part number and find the seller.
3. Contact the seller and make sure both display hinges are included.
4. Buy and replace hinges using laptop disassembly instructions.

Good luck!

I had also herd that some Tecra models, and some A10 models would also work for my Toshiba Satellite A15-s157 PSA10U-01C8WV but before I buy I wanted to ask you about interchangeabilty of these parts, since you are far more experienced and knowledgable with all these models..and, Thank you in advance

Toshiba Satellite A10 and A15 laptops may have three different base types. One base is marked with a letter “S”, the second one with a letter “C” and the last one with a letter “P”. In most cases this letter is stamped on the bottom of the laptop base in the battery compartment area but sometimes the letter could be located in a different spot.
You’ll have to use different hinges for different bases.

Here are part numbers:
- Left hinge: P000377630 for base with letter “S”
- Left hinge: P000379650 for base with letter “C”
- Left hinge: P000392930 for base with letters “C” or “P”

- Right hinge: P000377640 for base with letter “S”
- Right hinge: P000379660 for base with letter “C”
- Right hinge: P000392940 for base with letters “C” or “P”

You can use hinges from a Satellite A10 or A15 laptop on another Satellite A10 or A15 laptop if both units have similar bases. You can search for new or used hinges here.

This laptop disassembly guide could be useful too.

My daughter’s Toshiba Satellite 1410 screen won’t stay upright – just happened today – any thoughts on how to tighten?

If the laptop display just suddenly became loose and doesn’t stay upright, them most likely the display hinge or hinges are broken. You cannot really tighten a broken hinge, you have to replace it. To replace the display hinge in this model you have to take apart the display assembly and remove the top cover from the laptop base. Hinges are pretty expensive; you can find them on the internet around $70 a piece plus shipping cost. If you want to replace them yourself, I can help you to find the part number so you can search for it on the net. Leave a comment with the laptop full name and model, something like Toshiba Satellite 1410-S173, PS141U-01F3WV
