Dell Inspiron N4010 screen cracked

I have stepped on my Dell Inspiron N4010 laptop recently by accident and now it has many long and short cracks all over the screen and i understand this can be fixed by just replacing the screen?

But with cracks, i also have green and black lines around my screen….. will these black and green lines go away as well if i replace the screen???? i would really not like to replace my entire laptop.. screen itself coasts so much… so please help me!!!

P.S. … do u happen to know how i can check what kind of screen i have?

I think you’ll have to replace the screen. All these black and green lines should go away when you have a new screen installed.

Take a look at the following YouTube video explaining how to replace cracked screen on a Dell Inspiron N4010 laptop.

You can search for a new replacement screen using the screen model number which is printed on the screen sticker. You’ll have to remove the screen, find the sticker and located the model number. After that just google the screen model number. Also, new Dell Inspiron N4010 screen available on eBay.

  1. If you want to repair your laptop screen, it’s going to cost you a bit of money. For example, if you had a 15.6 inch widescreen and a Toshiba or Dell or Acer laptop, then search 15.6 Toshiba screen only. On eBay or something. It’s amazing how amazing deals you can get!
Also, if you stepped on your laptop, (try buying a case or at least a bag for it), whilst it’s not in use. Or you could go to a proffesinal and ask for help, it’s going to cost a bit though. Good luck!!!

  2. I replaced my screen exactly as described in your in your video. When I replaced the battery and turned it back on I got a 8 beep error and no display. I reinstalled the conector and tried again and got the same result. After the 3 attempt the computer will not turn on or make any error beeps, its just dead. I reinstalled the cracked screen but the computer is still dead. At least before I could use a external monitor. Any Ideas? Thanks

If it won’t turn on at all there is a little trick most laptop shops will dow here you hold down the power button for 60 seconds and then plug it back in. Make sure the battery is out when you do this. If that doesn’t work then most likely the Mobo is caput.

  4. hye..i got the same problem.my dell inspiron N4010 with intel core i3 screen turn to red when i switch on.i already reinstall the vga driver but still the same.

One reason for the beeping is because you may not have connected the lcd srceen correctly. You might what to check that out first before you do anything.
